Subject: Demand to Bargain

Dear Mr./Ms._______________:

AFGE Local _________, per Article 44, Section 4 B; of the VA/AFGE Master Agreement is formally demanding to bargain on the proposed changes in working conditions affecting bargaining unit employee at this facility and/or duty station. Please cease and desist any implementation affecting bargaining unit employees until the local bargaining obligation has been met.

The negotiations should begin no later than ten working days of receipt by the management chief negotiator in this matter. Per Article 46 Section 2 B; the negotiation sessions shall be scheduled at mutually agreeable times, dates and places that are reasonable and convenient.

Please make sure the following named members of AFGE Local ________ bargaining team are released to attend the negotiation session on the proposed changes in working conditions. If you have any questions please call me at extension______________.
