In
order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the
concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have
established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you
the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current
status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this
NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way
in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

This Briefing: Thanksgiving Day Message

Thanksgiving
2010
It’s
hard to believe the holiday season is upon us in full swing. This week
we celebrate Thanksgiving, an American holiday acknowledging our roots, a day
set aside for giving thanks.
For
some of us it will be spent without the presence of some of our loved ones or
special friends to celebrate this unique day, for they are serving our country
far from their homes and families. These special men and women in uniform are
securing our blessing of freedom.
Let
us all take a moment and look back over the past year and recall our many
blessings. But most importantly, join me in giving thanks to all
veterans, not just during the holidays, but every day, for their sacrifice,
and for those who defend it still today.
I
extend my deepest thanks to each and every one of you, who continually provide
first class service to our veterans, whether in
VHA,
VBA, or NCA.
On
behalf of the National Veterans Affairs Council Officers, Executive Board, and
Staff, we wish you and your family the very best during this Thanksgiving
Holiday!
