In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing: LET US REMEMBER AND HONOR OUR VETERANS!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Veterans Day formally known as Armistice Day, always fall on November 11th of each year. The signing of the Armistice ended World War I. This is both a Federal and State holiday celebrated as the day for honoring living veterans who have served in the military. This day complements Memorial Day, which primarily honors the deceased veterans.
This Saturday, November 11th, we will take time out as a country to salute the sacrifices made to keep our nation free and to honor the privileges we have earned as a country. With this freedom, we enjoy the luxury of independence, liberty, autonomy, and self determination that can neither be bought nor bargained away.
It is important for us, as a nation, to never forget the sacrifices made for this country from our forefathers, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and children. Let us continue to honor in commemoration the sacrifices that were made and the sacrifices that are made each and every day.
On behalf of the National Veterans Affairs Council, I would like to wish you and yours a safe holiday week-end. Let us all take time to remember our veterans and to thank those who wore and wear the uniforms which honor the sacrifice and courage in defending America.
