In
order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the
concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have
established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring
you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the
current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe
that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate
and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

This Briefing: Clarification
of Official Time for the AFGE/NVAC Training Convention
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This
President’s Briefing is to clarify the issue regarding Official Time for
the AFGE/NVAC 20th Triennial Training Convention that will be
held in Los Angeles, California, November 8th through the 12th.
Attached
you will find a letter from Leslie Wiggins, Deputy Assistant Secretary LMR
addressing the approval of 24 hours of official time for our convention.
As noted, eight (8) hours will be Veterans Day, therefore a holiday.
Which leaves a total of eight (8) hours of Annual Leave that you will need
to take for the entire week (i.e. 24+8+8=40 hours). Feel free to use
this letter when requesting your time.
The
eight (8) hours of Annual Leave will cover the four (4) hours for the
Business Meeting (11/8/10) and four (4) hours for the Election (11/9/10).
ATTN:
Pre-registration deadline is September 24, 2010
If
you have any questions, please direct them to the National VA Council’s
office.
