In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing: Contract Negotiation Update 07/26/06
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wednesday, July 26th is the 3rd day of contract negotiations in Nashville, TN.
Local #2400 (NVAC) and Local President, Ron Hardison have been very supportive to our team during these negotiation sessions. Much thanks to them! They have held lunch ~n~ learns, worn red arm bands, and held “Red Table Days” ~ these “highlighted” our day!
Today, we reached an agreement on Article 16, “Employee Rights”. However, we did not initial off on the article. We believe that the article enhances employee rights and retains the previsions that are already in our Master Agreement.
We have now moved on to Article 4, “Labor Management Training”.
The tone remains positive. Which is why we believe it was possible to agree on one article. We will continue to keep you informed of any new developments.
Don’t forget to wear your red t-shirts on Friday, July 28th! And keep up the support! Thanks!
