In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing:  Contract Negotiations Asheville, NC ~ Day 1

Yesterday, June 25, 2007, was the first day of negotiations at the VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina.  We discussed Article 31, “Temporary, Part-time and Probationary Employees”, with some movement, but no resolution.

 

Observers on Monday were Geneva Moore, from the VA Regional Office in Winston Salem; Phil Player, Jonica Forney and Inez Whiteside, representing AFGE Local 0446, Asheville, North Carolina.
