In
order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the
concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have
established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you
the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current
status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this
NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way
in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

Although
the history of Memorial Day dates back to 1886 and was better known as
“Decoration Day”; we still continue to celebrate our freedom, the same
freedom that we enjoy today due to the many men and women of the armed
forces. Memorial Day is the one special day that is set aside just for
those that “gave all”.
Representatives
from across the country, in all branches of service of the United States,
serve across the globe to keep us free and out of harm’s way. We owe
our sincere gratitude to those who valiantly serve and have served our
country.
As
for your dedication to our veterans, your service is invaluable. You
are the shoulder they lean on when they return and for some it’s your face
they may see before their days are over.
Today
and every day, we should show our appreciation for these men and women who
served and continue to serve our country with dignity and pride. Take
the time this Memorial Day to give thanks and remember those who gave the
ultimate sacrifice.
On
behalf of the National VA Council, let me share my sincere appreciation for
all that you do on behalf of our nation’s Veterans and wish you and yours
a very safe and Happy Memorial Day!
