In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing:  Contract Negotiations Day 4 Reno, NV ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 

Yesterday, Thursday, May 24, 2007, was the last day of Contract Negotiations in Reno.  We have agreed and signed Article 14, “Employee Assistance”.  Article 14 has been enhanced in this agreement, by additional time under “Excused Absence - Section 6”

 

We also discussed Article 13, “Discipline and Adverse Action”, with No resolution.  We additionally agreed and signed Article 33, “Timely and Proper Compensation”. 

 

This has been a great week in Reno, with outstanding hospitality from Locals 2152 and 2110.

 

Observers this week were James Kidney, President, and Bruce Chorjel, Vice President of Local 2152, Reno Nevada; also Bill Luttrell, President, and Mark Floding, 2^ND Vice President & Chief Steward of Local 2110, Palo Alto, California.
