In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed.

In This Briefing: Memorial Day Message
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let us take a moment and turn our thoughts this Memorial Day to the many brave men and women who have fought, who are fighting, and who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in order to defend our freedom.
Memorial Day is a day to give thanks for all that we are blessed with…a day that we can give thanks to America’s veterans and their families in memory of the many sacrifices that have been made for our sake ~ our freedom. Let us remember we are free because of the brave. The best way we can show our respect is to value their sacrifices. Let us not forget the fallen heroes who laid down their lives for the very freedom that our flag represents.
The sacrifices made in previous wars and/or in current conflicts are why we should honor the patriots. Because without them where would we be today?
On Monday, May 28th, I ask that you take a few minutes out of your day for a moment of silence to honor our many veterans.
As employees of the VA, it is our continued responsibility to acknowledge all veterans with admiration, solemn gratitude, and our deepest respect, something that they thoroughly earned and deserve. This Memorial Day, be sure to thank a vet for our most valuable gift ~ the gift of freedom!
On behalf of the National Veterans Affairs Council, I wish you and your families a safe Memorial Day!
