In order to further improve the lines of communication and to respond to the concerns between the National VA Council and you our members, I have established a National VA Council Briefing. This NVAC Briefing will bring you the latest news and developments within DVA and provide you with the current status of issues this Council is currently addressing. I believe that this NVAC Briefing will greatly enhance the way in which we communicate and the way in which we share new information, keeping you better informed. Alma L. Lee National VA Council, President

In This Briefing: Development of a communication channel for VBA issues

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello VBA Brothers and Sisters, After listening to the many concerns from VBA, I am looking at a way to develop a communication channel for issues that are of critical importance and that are specific to VBA. We already have several avenues of communication which will not be disturbed. The information packets we send by mail, your NVAC website, and the emailed President's Briefing will continue to be provided. However, I believe more is needed.
We experimented with having VBA locals within the districts teleconference on a regular basis. However, that has not been as productive as I had hoped and some of you have not had an opportunity to participate. We will find a way for all VBA locals around the country to be briefed on what is happening in VBA.
Since most of the information regarding issues specific to VBA resides within the VBA Mid-Term Bargaining Team, I will be asking that team to help with the development process.
I have also asked the Mid-Term Bargaining Team to keep you advised on the status and progress in implementing this initiative. This will not take place overnight, but our expectation is to have something in place in approximately 60-90 days.
